Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception) performance 2017

  • 68.5% of children reached GLD, which is above the LA result of 68.2%  
  • 85.2% of children achieved or exceeded Early Learning Goal in Personal, Social and Emotional Development which is above the LA result of 84.3%  
  • 70.4% of children achieved or exceeded Early Learning Goal in Literacy, which is in-line with LA.  
  • 79.6% of children achieved or exceeded Early Learning Goal in Mathematics which is above LA result of 76.7%  
  • 70.4% of children achieved or exceeded Early Learning Goal in all specific areas (Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the world, Expressive arts and design) which is above LA of 66.8% and above National of 70.2%
  • 68.5% of children achieved or exceeded Early Learning Goal in all areas which is above LA result of 65.8% 
  • 3.7% of children exceeded Early Learning Goal which is above LA of 2.5% and National of 3.2% 
  • Comparisons to 2016 show that there was an increase of 14.2 percentage points in the number of pupils achieving a good level of development.
  • There was a 1 point increase overall on point score from 2016.
  • Positive gap of 24.4% in favour of children from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.
  • Positive gap of 16.7% in favour of children with English as an Additional Language.
  • Positive gap of 12.7% in favour of Summer born children.
  • Positive gap of 33.3% for children who reside in 30% most deprived areas.
