Pharmacy First is a way to by-pass the doctors for minor ailments in children, where medicines can be given direct through the pharmacy for FREE.
Go to a Pharmacy First chemist and register your child; a basic list of pharmacies taking part in the scheme can be found HERE.
More pharmacies are choosing to be part of the scheme all of the time so if the pharmacy you regularly use doesn't appear, it is worth checking with them.
Each time you need anything for your child such as calpol, headlice treatment, cough and cold medicines etc, you go along to the pharmacy, show your registration card and get the medication for FREE!
