On a Wednesday our sports coach, Mr Johnson teaches us PE.

We need our named PE kits in school please, along with tying up our hair if it is long and removing our earrings or bringing in tape to cover them up.

In Year 2 we work really hard to improve our reading and we need your help by reading 4 times a week at home and recording this in

your child's reading diary. Diaries will be kept in school and

checked on a Thursday night.

Homework - A new sheet will be in your child's homework book on a Friday. Please have this back in school by Wednesday so that lots of PROUD points can be earned!

Welcome to the Summer Term in Year 2!

Our topic for the Summer Term is...

BLAST FROM THE PAST!

This topic has a History focus. We have begun the topic by learning all about Robin Hood.

This begun with a theme day on our residential at Beaumanor Hall where we hid in the woods from the Sherriff, made shelters and a camp for Robin Hood and his Merry Men and drank squirrel soup around the camp fire!

Back at school we have learnt lots of facts about Robin Hood and have been making up our minds whether we think Robin Hood was fact or a legend. We have produced poems, fact files and water colour painting about Robin Hood.

Our final half term begins with us learning about early communication and in particular, cave paintings. We will be looking at a new book called Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura and creating some cave paintings of our own, using charcoal and clay.
