EYFS unit - Lovely Ladybirds & Brilliant Butterflies Reception Blue & Yellow Groups Busy Bees Nursery

Our class teachers are Mrs Barker and Mrs Baker, supported by our amazing teaching assistants Mrs Wright , Miss McNeil and Mrs Worth.

We are proud to have amazing children in our EYFS unit who truly love to learn!

Our nursery and Reception groups, each with a maximum of 14 children, allow for tailored learning experiences that meet their developmental needs. We believe in learning through play, where hands-on, practical activities inspire and engage our young learners.

Our indoor and outdoor classrooms are designed to enrich experiences that connect with the curriculum. Children are encouraged to be active in their play, pursue their interests, and develop their creativity. They learn to take risks, solve problems, and enhance their social skills. Through play, they adapt, negotiate, communicate, and ask questions, all while building upon prior learning at their own pace.

The collaborative spirit shines as older children support younger ones, serving as fantastic role models. Together, they create a vibrant learning community!

We have a clear focus on the prime areas of the curriculum: communication and language, personal, social and emotional development, and physical development. These underpin all aspects of our learning and help children's strong development. We believe that communication and language is the key to a child's success and happiness.

Our nursery setting encourages enriched vocabulary and opportunities for talk. The children will learn to verbally tell their own stories using 'talk for writing' and 'Read, Write Inc Phonics' which lead into our Reception curriculum.

Children at William Lilley benefit from our excellent outdoor area. We spend lots of time outside learning about the natural world around us.
