Working Together and the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
The MASH is a partnership between Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottinghamshire NHS health services, Nottinghamshire Police and the Probation Service working together to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults. This forms part of the commitment to delivering the statutory guidance on mutli-agency working.
What does the MASH do?
When a professional, family member or member of the public is concerned about a child or young person’s welfare or safety, they can contact us so we can look into it. This is called reporting a safeguarding concern.
If you have urgent and significant concerns about a child and need support from a social worker, please contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub on:
- telephone: 0300 500 80 80 (Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm)
- telephone out of hours : 0300 456 4546
- email: mash.safeguarding@nottscc.gov.uk
On Monday 8 May 2025, the Department for Education released a guide to help children and young people understand the Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance. These resources explain how people work together to help, support and protect children. Designed for independent use or with an adult, they promote clear, open communication so young people know what to expect, what support is available and how to access it.
